The last wedding of 2019 took place in Bern. One of the main reasons why I love shooting weddings after so many years is that I get to meet all kind of people. I get to witness love, joy and happiness in many shapes and forms. For this particular couple it was shown with lots of laughter and sincerity. From the moment I was contacted till today they have been super kind towards me – and I am just the wedding photographer. It was an absolute privilege to document this day.
The wedding day started at the Hotel Alpenblick. A very funky hotel with quirky rooms and decoration. They got ready separately but we had a “first look” moment in the same room as they got ready. Outside the hotel their driver waited. It was their friend and he had properly prepared himself. A drivers hat and gloves. Loved his commitment!
First we headed to Rosengarten which had beautiful views of Bern. Then we went to the church. It was a special wedding because they had an entire children choir singing for them. After the ceremony the apero took place just outside. It was wrapped up by sending balloons to the sky. When the ballons were released then lots of them got stuck in the electrical wiring, trees and houses. It generated quite a bit of laughter.
Thereafter we went for our portrait session. The wedding couple are from Bern so they knew decided where we would go. It was clear it was a “local” path. No tourists at all, just us and lovely views of Bern!
The wedding party was taking place at Restaurant Haberbueni. It has a lovely garden where they could have some drinks before going upstairs to the dinner. When they walked up the bride’s cousin surprised them by performing a couple of songs. It was a beautiful moment.
Time to wrap this up. Enjoy the last wedding of 2019….
